Effective September 16, 2026 · Version frostbyte-beta-2026-09-16-v6
These terms cover the FrostByte public beta provided by Blackfrost Softwares Corp, operating as Blackfrost_AI, including its Mac, Windows, and Linux desktop apps, optional Spark companion, and public download service. Please read them before accepting or installing a build.
The essentials: this is evaluation software, torrents can share your IP address and upload data, third-party files may be unsafe or restricted, and a connected Spark can keep running after your computer disconnects. The Mac beta is ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple; the Windows and Linux betas are unsigned.
1. Agreement and beta license
Public beta access opened September 13, 2026. Anyone who accepts these terms is an authorized beta user; no invitation, account or email signup is required. Version 0.4.0 bundles these current notices. The app’s proprietary evaluation license, third-party licenses, optional diagnostics choices and other app-use terms continue to apply.
By selecting the acceptance checkbox and continuing to downloads, or selecting “Agree and continue” in the desktop app, you agree to these terms. If you accept for a business or team, you confirm that you may do so on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not access or use the beta. The desktop app stores the accepted terms and privacy-notice versions and acceptance time on your computer, and asks again when those documents change. Until acceptance, it does not start its local transfer engine. An already-running Spark companion is independent and may continue working.
Blackfrost_AI grants authorized beta users a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use its proprietary FrostByte code for personal or internal evaluation, including use by your authorized team on devices you own or have permission to administer. Ownership of Blackfrost_AI’s code is not transferred.
Do not publish or redistribute Blackfrost_AI’s proprietary app or installer without permission. Share the official FrostByte website so other users can review the terms and obtain the current verified release. Temporary storage links expire; they are not permanent download addresses. The app includes third-party open-source components; their own licenses and notices govern those components. Nothing in these terms restricts rights granted by those licenses or rights that applicable law does not allow us to restrict.
These terms do not give you rights to third-party model weights, datasets, software, or other files downloaded with FrostByte. Those files remain subject to their own licenses and owners’ rights.
2. Your files, your permissions, and peer-to-peer sharing
Use FrostByte only for lawful purposes and only to download, store, or share content you are entitled to use in that way. Follow copyright, model and dataset licenses, access restrictions, and the rules of the networks you use. Access to a public file does not necessarily permit redistribution or commercial use.
BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol. Other peers, trackers, and discovery participants can learn network addresses, ports, and information identifying the torrent you join. FrostByte is not an anonymity service and does not guarantee private or untraceable transfers.
Torrents may upload downloaded pieces to other peers while downloading and continue seeding after completion. Review the sharing, bandwidth, discovery, and seeding settings; pause or stop sharing when appropriate. Your desktop computer and Spark can have separate running transfers. Selecting particular files can still transfer small portions of neighboring files because torrent pieces can overlap file boundaries.
FrostByte does not certify downloaded material as safe, accurate, lawful, compatible, or fit for a particular purpose. A matching transfer hash does not establish those qualities. Treat model files, configs, archives, and scripts as untrusted until you have assessed them. You are responsible for what you choose to open, load, or run.
3. HuggingFace and other services
HuggingFace access is subject to its service terms, account permissions, model-specific licenses, and any publisher approval requirements. Use only accounts and tokens you are authorized to use. A successful download does not remove those restrictions. You can revoke an access token through HuggingFace.
Catalog hosts, trackers, peers, cloud storage providers, and linked websites operate independently. Availability, content, security, and rate limits can change. Blackfrost_AI cannot guarantee that a particular file or service will remain available.
FrostByte is an independent Blackfrost_AI product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by NVIDIA, Hugging Face, Apple, Microsoft, or the owners of the files you download. DGX Spark and other third-party names identify compatible products or services; their trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Only connect a Spark or other supported device you own or have permission to administer. Check its SSH identity before trusting it. Setup can install or update a Docker companion, add a dedicated public SSH key for this computer, and give the companion access to folders you select. An existing SSH connection instead uses its configured credentials and permissions.
You control which internal or mounted external folders are registered for downloads and sharing. Verify the destination and available space before a large transfer. Keep backups: interrupted transfers, software errors, drive removal, or conflicting writes can damage files or leave incomplete data.
The companion runs on Spark independently of the desktop app. Transfers, seeding, storage use, electricity consumption, and network charges may continue after your computer disconnects or its app is closed. Adding storage can restart the companion. Closing or uninstalling the desktop app does not itself uninstall the companion or remove its SSH key from Spark.
You are responsible for device permissions, network access, internet charges, storage, backups, and third-party service costs associated with your use.
5. What a beta does and does not promise
The current desktop beta targets Apple silicon Macs, Windows x64 PCs, and Linux x64 desktops. The optional companion targets supported Linux ARM64 and x64 devices with Docker and SSH. Intel Mac, Windows ARM64, and Linux ARM64 desktop builds are not included.
The Mac build is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized by Apple. macOS may warn about it or prevent it from opening. Do not disable system security protections to make the beta run. If you are unsure about a warning or the source of an installer, stop and contact us. See Apple’s guidance on safely opening Mac apps.
The Windows build is unsigned and may trigger publisher or security warnings. Its per-user NSIS setup does not request administrator elevation and preserves existing torrent and magnet defaults while registering FrostByte as an option. The Windows ZIP does not install shortcuts or associations. Opening a torrent file or magnet in FrostByte opens a review; you must confirm before a transfer starts. Keep Windows security protections enabled and contact us if you are unsure about a build.
The Linux AppImage and Debian package are unsigned. The AppImage launches without Chromium’s process sandbox because a portable image cannot install the required privileged helper; the Debian package installs and uses the packaged sandbox helper. Keep Linux security protections enabled, obtain packages only from the official FrostByte website, and contact us if you are unsure about a build.
Beta software can contain bugs, lose or corrupt data, consume unexpected resources, or stop working with a service or operating-system update. Do not rely on it for safety-critical work or as your only copy of important files. No release date, ongoing availability, compatibility, uptime, or support response time is promised.
Where applicable law permits, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This wording does not remove a warranty, guarantee, or remedy that the law requires.
6. Responsibility, access changes, and mandatory rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Blackfrost_AI is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or loss of data arising from beta use. You remain responsible for the content and destinations you select and for your own backups.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or reduces mandatory consumer rights. This includes any non-excludable protections relating to fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury, negligence, or statutory remedies that apply to you. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent allowed by law.
We may suspend or revoke beta download access for security, misuse, legal requirements, or the end of the beta. This does not take away rights granted by a third-party license, erase your files, or promise to revoke a temporary download URL before it expires. You may stop using the beta at any time.
Optional diagnostics are separate from this agreement. Declining diagnostics does not reduce beta access or app functionality. Manual feedback remains optional and available when diagnostics are off. The privacy notice describes those reports and their retention.
We may publish revised terms with an updated version and effective date for future beta access or builds. Material changes will be presented for review when acceptance is required. The FrostByte Privacy Notice explains the app’s data handling and the download service.
7. Contact
The provider is Blackfrost Softwares Corp, operating as Blackfrost_AI. For beta access, software licensing, security concerns, or questions about these terms, contact support@blackfrostai.com. Do not send passwords, private SSH keys, or HuggingFace tokens.
IPFS is an additional public peer-to-peer network. Looking up or downloading content discloses content requests and network addresses to network participants. FrostByte uses a receiving node with block serving disabled. Sharing a completed collection requires a separate action and creates a publishing copy of its selected files. Turning sharing off stops the publisher while its allowed content is updated. Sharing must be enabled again after a FrostByte process restart. Block caches consume additional storage; IPFS traffic is not governed by the torrent bandwidth or scheduling settings. Clearing download history does not delete downloaded files.
The AEON Orbit appearance is available to all users. Compatible AEON Raspberry Pi images may report additional tools for that device. These open the device’s AEON console in your browser and remain subject to its authentication and permissions. Changing the theme grants no device access. FrostByte does not receive AEON administrator credentials or automatically run a downloaded model. Raspberry Pi and other remote companions operate independently of the desktop and use the storage folders their owner selects.
Optional publisher identity
Publisher identity setup is optional and does not publish your files. You are responsible for keeping its password and recovery phrase private and maintaining your recovery backup. A publisher signature identifies a signing key; it does not certify a file as safe, lawful, accurate or endorsed by Blackfrost_AI.
